At best, it is a nuisance when the "Check Engine" light comes on, and you never know if it is something serious. Baird's Automotive is good at diagnosing problems, from a dirty sensor to a faulty vacuum tube. They are fair and never try to sell you something that you do not need. Highly recommended.
I am 2 hours away and would prefer to drive all the way back there to NM and see him for car work in the future instead of trying to find another mechanic. Its hard to find a honest mechanic. I recommend Baird to anyone riding through to stop there and get your oil changed or work done and if you live in Las Cruces or close by this should be your new mechanic. period.
We were visiting Las Cruces from San Diego. Minivan started shuddering on a family trip to Carlsbad. We took it to Bairds based on a local friend's recommendation. Best decision possible. He had a stack of tickets for work to be done, but he worked us in because he knew we had to leave town the next day. He diagnosed the possible issues and presented our options - including the option of driving the van back home to get the work done. This is the work of an honest mechanic. If you ever need something done, I would trust Bairds to give it to you straight.
